ASIA MOOT CORPR is the premier intercollegiate business plan competition in the region. The mission of Asia MOOT CORPR is to foster the entrepreneurial spirit and the ability of future managers in Asia who are receiving business education from the region’s leading business schools.
The first ASIA MOOT CORPR competition was organized by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1998. For 2008 competition, ASIA MOOT CORP will be held by Thammasat University, Thailand during March 11 – 13, 2008 which is the third time that ASIA MOOT CORP held by Thammasat University.
Approximately 20 teams from top business schools in Asia representing China, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand, will participate in this 3 day competition. The teams will be divided into four divisions and will make presentations on March 12, 2008. The team’s goal in both the business plan and oral presentation is to convince the investors that the team has a viable venture which, if funded, would lead to a successful growing company. The competition is about new ventures, not deals nor licensing agreements. The investors/judges will select a finalist from each division and the finalists will present on March 13, 2008. The winner will receive a prize of US$ 12,500 and the title of THAMMASAT ASIA MOOT CORP Champion. The winner from THAMMASAT ASIA MOOT CORP 2008 is eligible to compete in the University of Texas at Austin in the Global MOOT CORPR competition.
