Hult Prize at NSYSU online workshop with NTU

The College of Management at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) has been striving for being the model of putting College Social Responsibility (CSR) into practice. Since 2018, the College of Management has been publishing CSR annual reports for 4 straight years. To further fulfill CSR principles, the College of Management supported the team which organized Hult Prize programs to establish the “Hult Prize Club” on May 5th, 2021. The Hult Prize Club has started planning 2022 Hult Prize programs. Hult Prize is a competition between students studying at universities worldwide, which was founded in 2009. It is also known as the Nobel Prize in Business school. Students around the world have to come up with practical projects according to the topic assigned by Hult Prize Foundation. The topic focuses on critical issues around the world nowadays in order to find possible solutions from Business elites. The winner in international Finals will win 1 million US dollars for startup. 

On July 17th, the Hult Prize club at NSYSU organized an online meeting with the Hult Prize club at National Taiwan University (NTU). The Hult Prize club at NTU was invited to share their previous experience of organizing the Hult Prize program. The participants included the presidents, vice presidents, directors of brand and marketing department, and directors of public relations department from both NSYSU and NTU Hult Prize club.

The NSYSU Hult Prize club is founded by students studying at College of Management, including Pauline Kong Yuen , Liu Chu Yun, Cho Yi Jen, and Lisa Ho Ya Lai in 3rd grade, Fan Jui Yang in 4th grade, and Chang Yi Hsiang at International Trade Institute. The club is still at the preliminary stage, while NTU Hult Prize campus program has been held for four years and organized the Hult Prize competition in a systematic way. Therefore, the NSYSU Hult Prize club members took this chance to learn about how to come up with a comprehensive proposal of the 2022 Hult Prize campus program.

At the beginning, May Hung, the former president of Hult Prize club at NTU, introduced the structure of the team, and whom they invited to be the judges or coaches for the competition. She also recommended some online resources of finding social enterprises and marketing models. The directors from NTU shared the results, difficulties they faced and feedback they gained from the attendants based on all the workshops and events they held. In addition, they shared the strategies of finding sponsorships and partnerships. As a result, our NSYSU Hult Prize team has increased awareness, knowledge gains, and collaboration and implementation ideas in future workshops preparation.
