[Congratulations!] NSYSU College of Management Forms Partnership with Kyushu University, Expanding Global Collaboration and Influence

We are excited to announce that our College has reached a new milestone in academic collaboration by establishing a partnership with Kyushu University, one of Japan’s top institutions. This agreement, now in effect, will allow two of our students to study each year at Kyushu University’s Faculty of Economics, starting next year. This marks the third partnership we’ve formed with Japanese universities, representing another significant step forward in our College’s internationalization efforts.

Founded in 1903 and located in Fukuoka City, Kyushu University is a leading national research university in Japan, ranking 7th among Japanese universities and 164th in the 2024 QS World University Rankings. As one of Japan’s oldest and most prestigious institutions, it is known for its academic rigor and excellence, playing a crucial role in both Japanese and global academia.

Establishing international partnerships is no small feat. Last November, taking advantage of the AACSB Asia-Pacific Annual Conference, our Dean, Professor Shu-Chuan Yeh, led a team from the Office of International Exchange and Accreditation to visit Kyushu University, with which we had been in contact for some time. The visit aimed to deepen our collaboration with Kyushu University’s Faculty of Economics and to explore further opportunities for academic exchange.

After months of discussions, the visit was successfully arranged. During our time in Japan, Professor Chen-Chuang Lin, a former doctoral student at Kyushu University who now serves as a professor at National Taiwan Normal University and Director of the Kyushu University Taipei Office, warmly welcomed us. He provided an in-depth tour of Kyushu University’s campus, sharing the university’s rich history, campus relocation background, and geographical layout. He also accompanied us to a meeting with the Faculty of Economics.

At Kyushu University’s Faculty of Economics, we were greeted by former Dean Professor Keiichi Oishi, who introduced us to the faculty team. Following this, Ms. Tzu-Chun Chen from our Office of International Exchange and Accreditation delivered a presentation on the College of Management’s rankings, structure, international collaborations, and educational environment. Professor Taro Takimoto of Kyushu University then presented an overview of the university’s campus, the structure of the Faculty of Economics, curriculum offerings, and student-to-faculty ratios.

After the presentations, the discussions focused on the specifics of student exchanges, including course requirements, language proficiency, exchange duration, and participant numbers. The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts, expressing mutual appreciation. Our team also invited Kyushu University’s representatives to visit our College for further exchanges in the future.

In April, a new Dean took office at Kyushu University’s Faculty of Economics, leading to a follow-up virtual meeting where we presented an overview of NSYSU’s College of Management to the new Dean. This meeting also included detailed discussions on the agreement, resulting in a student exchange arrangement that benefits both institutions.

We are honored to partner with Kyushu University, creating boundless global learning opportunities for our students. Both institutions look forward to expanding collaboration across various fields.
