Dear Faculty Members, Colleagues, and Students,
Get protected on both sides — one shot for flu, one for COVID-19!
Our university, in collaboration with the Gushan District Health Center of Kaohsiung City, will be holding a free vaccination event offering both the Novavax JN.1 COVID-19 vaccine and the influenza vaccine. We encourage all eligible faculty, staff, and students to make good use of this public health resource. Those who qualify are welcome to receive both vaccines at the same time for dual protection, helping to safeguard the health of our campus and the wider community.
According to the Ministry of Education’s notice based on the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s announcement, starting November 12, 2025, all individuals aged 12 and above who are eligible for public vaccination may receive the Novavax JN.1 COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccination guidelines are as follows:
1. Regardless of previous vaccination history, individuals may receive one dose (0.5 mL).
2. Those who have previously received any COVID-19 vaccine should wait at least 12 weeks (84 days) before receiving this dose.
3. Individuals who have already received the Moderna LP.8.1 COVID-19 vaccine do not need to receive this vaccine.
To further strengthen immunity and reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses during the winter season, eligible individuals are also encouraged to receive the influenza vaccine. Publicly funded influenza vaccination is available to the following groups:
· Healthcare and epidemic prevention personnel
· Adults aged 50–64 years without high-risk chronic diseases
· Indigenous people aged 55 and above
· Seniors aged 65 and above
· Residents and staff of long-term care institutions
· Children aged 6 months to preschool age
· Pregnant women
· Individuals with underlying health conditions (including high-risk chronic diseases, BMI ≥ 30, rare diseases, or major illnesses)
· Parents of infants under 6 months old
· Preschool educators and childcare workers
· Students from elementary school through the third year of junior college
· Personnel involved in livestock and animal epidemic prevention
Let us all join the “Flu on the left, New Knowledge on the right” campaign — get both vaccines and work together to build a healthy and safe campus environment.
