Our Research Strategy
The Department focuses on the cross-disciplinary application of finance. The Department's faculty research areas are diverse, spanning financial technology, investment portfolio management, corporate finance, and behavioral finance. In response to the wave of financial technology (FinTech) that has become the industry trend in recent years, the department is committed to offering courses related to programming languages and has also purchased diversified database systems and software, such as TEJ, CMONEY, DETASTREAM, COMPUSTAT, and SAS, to provide faculty and students with the infrastructure for big data and artificial intelligence research, and to bring innovative development to the department. The department's faculty research areas are diverse, including financial technology, portfolio management, corporate finance, and behavioral finance.
Specializations of Faculty
NSYSU’s Department of Finance has professors with a wide range of specializations, including: financial technology and financial engineering, financial institution management, intelligent investment, corporate governance, and behavioral finance and sustainable finance, among others. It prides itself on being the most complete and balanced department of financial in the country. Currently, there are 14 full-time faculty members in the department, with research areas including: intelligent investment and program trading, financial engineering, financial accounting, financial research methods, financial management, financial instrument development for insurance companies, financial markets, risk management and insurance, behavioral finance, corporate governance, corporate social responsibility, and real estate valuation.
Many of our faculty members have published numerous quality articles in world-class journals (MOST’s A Tier-1) in the field of finance, such as: The Journal of Risk and Insurance, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, and Journal of Banking and Finance, among others.
