[College of Management] Networking and Innovation: Highlights from the International Lounge Event at NSYSU's College of Management

The vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and innovation filled the halls of the College of Management at National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) during the recent International Lounge Event organized jointly by the student associations of the IBMBA and GHRM-MBA programs. This event, designed not only to foster connections among students but also to promote cutting-edge initiatives, saw a remarkable turnout of 80 enthusiastic participants.

One of the key highlights of the event was the presence of esteemed guests from the Georgia Institute of Technology, who graced the event to introduce and promote the Convergence Innovation Competition. Dr. Michael Best, the Director of the Institute of People and Technology (IpaT), brought his wealth of knowledge and experience to the gathering. Accompanying him was Shelton Chan, the Managing Director of Development at the Asia Pacific/China Education Foundation, Georgia Tech. Their presence added a global perspective to the event and offered students an invaluable opportunity to engage with industry leaders.

The convergence innovation competition, spearheaded by Georgia Tech, aims to ignite creativity and problem-solving skills among students. It encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and challenges participants to address real-world problems using innovative approaches. As Dr. Best and Mr. Chan shared insights into the competition, students were inspired to explore their entrepreneurial potential and contribute to solving pressing societal issues.

The event also witnessed the participation of distinguished figures from NSYSU's College of Management. Dr. Shu-Chuan Jennifer Yeh, the Dean of the College, graced the occasion with her presence, emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Joining her was Dr. Jack Shih-Chieh Hsu, a Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Management Information System Institute, who provided valuable guidance and support to aspiring entrepreneurs.

Additionally, two esteemed professors from the IBMBA and GHRM-MBA programs, Dr. Ryan Brading and Dr. Fang Yi Lo were present. Their presence not only added academic depth to the event but also encouraged students to explore the intersection of business and technology.

Throughout the event, students actively engaged with the speakers, posing thought-provoking questions and seeking advice on how to excel in the competition. The exchange of ideas was not only intellectually stimulating but also laid the groundwork for potential collaborations and partnerships.
