In today’s dynamic business environment, data analysis has emerged as an indispensable skill for management professionals. Whether in marketing, finance, strategy formulation, or customer service, the ability to analyze data empowers managers to make informed decisions. By understanding and interpreting data, businesses can accurately identify market trends, comprehend customer needs, optimize resource allocation, and enhance competitiveness. Moreover, data analysis helps organizations uncover potential opportunities and risks, enabling more scientific risk management, which has become a critical success factor for modern enterprises.

Equipped with data analysis skills, management professionals not only gain a competitive edge in the job market but also create greater value for their organizations, driving digital transformation and innovation.

On November 19, the College of Management at National Sun Yat-sen University hosted the “Business Big Data Platform Promotion Seminar,” which drew enthusiastic participation from faculty and students across various colleges. The event aimed to integrate management knowledge with data science, focusing on cultivating professional managers proficient in data analysis. The “Business Big Data Platform” introduced during the seminar offers abundant resources to help students from non-technical backgrounds acquire advanced artificial intelligence and big data analytics skills.

Understanding the significance of data analysis in today’s business world, the College of Management has established the Big Data Business Analytics Platform to provide students with robust computational resources and comprehensive learning content. The platform not only features systems for big data and artificial intelligence but also includes a series of program templates to lower the technical entry barrier. Additionally, the college has curated online courses from renowned global business schools, such as Harvard Business School and MIT, and compiled them into self-study roadmaps for students’ convenience.

During the seminar, Assistant Professor Yung-Jan Cho demonstrated the platform’s powerful computational capabilities and illustrated how interactive charts can make learning management knowledge both engaging and effective. The session also highlighted the use of self-study roadmaps and other platform services, along with detailed introductions to related courses and micro-programs.

Through these platforms and learning resources, we aim to empower more students to harness the power of data analysis in their future careers, collectively advancing into a new era of business intelligence.
