【CM】On-line Pre-Departure Orientation for Dual Degree Students

National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) College of Management held an online pre-departure orientation session for dual-degree students on May 13, bringing together outgoing students and senior students currently studying abroad to share valuable firsthand experiences and practical advice. The session aimed to help students better prepare for their upcoming academic journey at partner institutions, including KEDGE Business School (KEDGE BS), Burgundy School of Business (BSB), and NEOMA Business School.

During the session, three senior students were invited to introduce their study abroad experiences, covering academic life, local culture, internship opportunities, and future career prospects in France. Through their detailed presentations and personal stories, the speakers provided participants with a realistic picture of student life overseas and helped ease many concerns students may have before departure.

The senior students shared insights into course structures, classroom environments, and academic expectations at each partner school. They also discussed the importance of adapting to different teaching styles and balancing coursework with daily life abroad. In addition to academics, the speakers highlighted internship and employment opportunities available to international students in France, encouraging participants to actively explore professional experiences during their studies.

One of the most appreciated parts of the session was the practical guidance provided for pre-departure preparation. The senior students carefully introduced important safety tips and anti-theft precautions, reminding students to stay vigilant while traveling and living abroad. They also shared useful information regarding accommodation options, transportation systems, banking, and mobile phone plans offered by major telecommunications companies in France. These detailed recommendations gave participants a clearer understanding of daily life overseas and helped them feel more confident about adapting to a new environment.

Throughout the orientation, participating students actively raised questions regarding housing arrangements, transportation, internship applications, and cultural differences. The interactive Q&A session allowed students to receive direct advice from experienced peers and created a supportive atmosphere for future exchange and dual degree students.

The College of Management hopes this orientation session not only strengthens students’ preparation before departure, but also fosters stronger connections among students participating in international programs. With the support and experience shared by the senior students, NSYSU wishes all outgoing students a smooth transition, a successful academic journey, and a rewarding international experience ahead.
