Special Features of the Program

The Master program is multi-disciplinary. Through the foundational required courses and multi-disciplinary elective courses, students can learn how the public, private, and voluntary sectors cooperate and collaborate in governance, combining the expertise and experience of multiple stakeholders and departments to solve the complex and interconnected problems of society.

Total Program Credits: 35 Credits

Our students come from a variety of academic backgrounds. The required courses and required electives emphasize students' academic foundation in public affairs management, while the electives emphasize a variety of cross-disciplinary options. The Corporate Social Responsibility Integration Program and the Local Creation and Sustainable Development Integration Program, as well as the Local Creation and Regional Governance, Public Affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability Management, Nonprofit Business and Social Innovation, Civic Engagement, and Gender and Management micro-programs are offered in conjunction with the Public Affairs Office curriculum and other departmental courses to enhance the professional knowledge and career opportunities of Master degree students. NSYSU’s Institute of Public Affairs Management has a wealth of management school exchange resources, where you can learn urban planning, community building, gender education, environmental education, and other subjects from many public sector experts. This is different from more commonly known management schools. I am very grateful and fortunate to have attended the Institute of Public Affairs Management, which has allowed me to look at things from a deeper perspective, not only in terms of business management, but also to try to understand the social system and the impact of human behavior, and to think about what I can contribute to society.

I encourage students to find their own interests and expertise during this stage of their Master studies, and to make full use of these two years to develop themselves, as well as to develop the three major skills of problem identification, problem solving, and communication. When I was in grad school, I was very interested in studying abroad, learning languages and meeting people from different cultures, so I decided to apply for a dual degree exchange program in my master's degree. I was fortunate enough to get a school scholarship and to study abroad. I think new students should not only pursue academic performance, but also take the initiative to participate in extracurricular activities, which can add points to their resumes.
