The Institute of Human Resources Management Doctoral Program

Special Features of the Program

Dedicated to training all-round management talents, our Ph.D. program was established in 1998 as one of the first doctoral programs in human resources management in Taiwan. We have 12 full-time professors, many of whom have received the Ta-You Wu Memorial Award and Distinguished Research Award from the National Science and Technology Council. We have a comprehensive faculty whose specializations cover strategic management, strategic HRM, and international HRM on the macro-level, as well as organizational behavior, employee attitudes and behaviors, and work psychology on the micro-level. Our faculty and their supervised students have won numerous national awards for their papers.

Graduation Requirements

Total Program Credits: 39 Credits

The department's doctoral program requires a minimum of 39 credits. The curriculum is divided into three types of courses – required, required elective, and supplemental – giving students ample flexibility in course selection. Students must take a minimum of 24 credits of elective courses. They must also take Ethics and Social Responsibility. Track B students must take Independent Studies in Industry and submit a report on the industry case study for publication.
The remedial courses are designed to provide students with basic management background knowledge. There are four supplemental courses: Productions and Operations Management, Financial Management, Information Management, and Marketing Management. International students can only take two of these courses.
