Words from Our Alumni

Hsin-Ming Hsiao, In-Service Master Class of 2014

I have always been proud to be a member of NSYSU’s Department of Finance. In the past, whenever I encountered problems in the workplace, the most basic way to deal with them was to discuss the issues within the company, or to search online, collect data from books or attend external training courses, etc. The cost-effectiveness of these approaches did not meet expectations. After entering the Department of Finance, I have come to understand that I have a lot to learn in many different areas.

The department also provides a lot of resources for students to use, so I treasured my time in every class. In class, whether it is in professional financial knowledge, financial management, fixed income or accounting courses, the professors have a wealth of knowledge, which has benefited me a lot. In addition, the department is committed to fostering an international perspective in its students. The department offers a wide variety of learning opportunities, and with the experience of taking courses and writing papers, I have also trained myself to collect data and to read reports, and most importantly, to stimulate my potential, to grow under pressure, to accomplish “impossible tasks,” and to honor my lifelong pride as a member of the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Honors Society.

The two-year course allowed me to meet alumni from different fields, giving me more human resources to handle the demands of the job. Even after I left the campus, the College of Management Alumni Association continues to provide opportunities to exchange knowledge. I am very glad that I insisted on my original plan of only attending NSYSU. Joining NSYSU’s Department of Finance will give you a different outlook on life!
